Mumbai: Two police job aspirants have been booked for allegedly cheating during the constable recruitment exam conducted on Saturday, taking the number of such cases to three. On Saturday, a 22-year-old man from Jalna was arrested for allegedly discreetly using an earpiece.
In the latest episodes, the duo has been identified as Rauf Pathan, 27, a resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nikhil Nagargoj, 20, from Beed. According to the Kasturba police which has jurisdiction over Pathan's exam centre, he had allegedly placed a Bluetooth device in his ear, which was noticed by a supervisor just before the exams commenced.
In the case of Nagargoj, a cop from the Kandivali police station said, “He was disqualified in the physical test, but did not inform his family. When his family kept asking about the written exam, he eventually lied.” He then arrived in Mumbai with his uncle for the written exam, created a fake hall ticket and tried to enter the centre when he was caught by the supervisor, said the officer.
The duo has been booked under the relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as well as the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices at University, Board and Other Specified Examinations Act.
