Mumbai: In a case of fraud and academic dishonesty, VP Road Police have arrested a young woman for using a forged hall ticket to attempt the 2023-2024 Maharashtra Police recruitment written examination. The accused, Divya Ramesh Ambhore, allegedly altered the hall ticket with the help of two friends and tried to gain unauthorized entry into the exam center.
According to VP Road Police, the written examination was being conducted for candidates who had cleared the physical test for police recruitment. The test venue was Chandaramji High School, CP Tank Circle, near Bank of India, Ambe Wadi, Girgaon, Charni Road.
During routine verification, officers noticed discrepancies in the hall ticket presented by Ambhore. The ticket number did not match her name, raising suspicion. Upon questioning, it was revealed that the hall ticket had been tampered with.
The woman, a resident of Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, was immediately taken into custody. Investigation confirmed her involvement in forgery. A case has been registered under various sections 336(2), 336(3), 340(2), 3(5) of BNS and sections 7 and 8 of the University Act, as well as relevant provisions for fraud and deception.
