Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Taking a stern note of the grand wedding held in the government-owned Holkar era Gopal Mandir (temple) on Sunday, divisional commissioner Deepak Singh terminated the manager of the temple, while the charge of Mafi Officer was taken from Vinod Rathore.
The lavish wedding in the historic Gopal Mandir became the talking point here on Monday, following which the divisional commissioner terminated temple manager KL Kaushal with immediate effect. Mafi Officer (and deputy collector) Vinod Rathore was also removed from the post.
The divisional commissioner handed over the charge of Mafi Officer to joint collector Kalyani Pandey. He also told collector Asheesh Singh to investigate the incident, as conducting any activity on government premises without permission was prohibited. As per reports, ADM Jyoti Sharma will probe the matter.
The divisional commissioner also gave instructions to collector Singh to constitute a high-level committee at the district level to prepare detailed guidelines regarding the functioning of Gopal Mandir. The committee would prepare detailed dos and don’ts for the temple management.
Following withdrawal of charge of Mafi Officer from Vinod Rathore, the collector transferred him from the post of SDM revenue, of Rau and posted him in the district office with immediate effect. The charge of Rathore has been given to joint collector and sub-divisional officer, revenue, Khudail, Gopal Verma along with his current work till further orders. The order has become effective with immediate effect.
