External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will fly to Spain for a diplomatic visit between January 13 and 14. This will be his first visit to the country as Indian foreign minister. The Ministry of External Affairs made announcement about this on Sunday (January 12).
During his Spain visit, Jaishankar with meet Spanish leadership and hold talks with Spain's Foreign Minister Manuel Albares. The two leaders are likely to hold discussions on whole spectrum of bilateral relation. Talks are likely to touch upon global matters of concern as well.
The External Affairs Minister will also meet Indian community in Spain and address 9th Annual Conference of Spanish Ambassadors.
Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish President, was in India in October last year at the invitation of Indian PM Narendra Modi. This was his first visit to India and a first by Spanish president in 18 years.
During Sanchez's visit, he and PM Modi noted renewal of bilateral relationship and fresh momentum Sanchez's visit had provided to it.
PM Modi visited Spain in 2017.
During President Sanchez's visit, PM Modi and him jointly inaugurated Final Assembly Line Plant of C-295 aircraft co-produced by Airbus Spain and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd.
The same plant will roll out C295 aircraft in the year 2026.
