Mumbai: A fresh twist has emerged in the NCP leader Baba Siddiqui murder case as detailed in the chargesheet filed by the Mumbai Crime Branch in the special MCOCA court. According to the investigation, Wanted Accused Anmol Bishnoi orchestrated the entire plot, including financial arrangements and recruitment of shooters.

The chargesheet reveals that Akashdeep Gill, who was arrested from Punjab, managed the funding on Bishnoi’s instructions. Gill secured the money and transferred ₹3 lakh to absconding accused Shubham Lonkar.

The transaction was facilitated through a Karnataka Bank account opened in the name of Salman Vohra, another arrested suspect. Wanted accused Shubham Lonkar subsequently distributed these funds among other conspirators involved in the murder plot across Maharashtra.

Further investigation uncovered a detailed money trail from Uttar Pradesh. On Bishnoi’s orders, four associates of shooter Shiv Kumar Gautam, Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, and Akash Srivastava collected and transferred funds via cash deposit machines (CDM). Bishnoi had promised these accomplices substantial financial rewards in return for their support. The police arrested all four along with Gautam in Bahraich.

The chargesheet also highlights that Bishnoi used the Signal messaging app to coordinate with 26 suspects, including two absconding accused, Shubham Lonkar and Zeeshan Akhtar. Bishnoi’s most extensive conversations were with the three shooters, along with key conspirators such as Gill and others. He brainwashed them into believing that the murder was a mission for religious and social justice.

Bishnoi claimed that Baba Siddiqui was linked to Salman Khan and Dawood Ibrahim and accused them of involvement in Anuj Thapan’s murder. During these communications, the accused often referred to Bishnoi as "Bhai."

Following the murder, Bishnoi promised significant financial compensation to his associates. A senior Crime Branch official confirmed that Shubham Lonkar remains in hiding within India, and specialized search teams are actively working on locating him. This high-profile case continues to reveal intricate details of the planning and execution behind the assassination, marking a major breakthrough in the investigation.
