Guwahati: Financial influencer Abhishek Kar on Friday issued an apology over his controversial 'tantric' remarks about Assam during a podcast, Kar released a video message after the Assam Chief Minister's Office called for action for his comments. In the video message released by Kar, he could be seen with folded hands apologising for his comments.

"A video from a YouTube channel, named Riya Upreti, is in circulation where an individual named Abhishek Kar is seen making unacceptable comments on Assam's history and traditions. Appropriate action may be initiated against the said individual for spreading misinformation," said the CMO sharing the finluencer's image.

Notably, GP Singh, the Director General of Police, replied to the CMO's post and assured to take appropriate action. Within hours, Kar released the video message in which the financial influencer said that he had instructed the podcaster to remove the particular clip.

"Apologies to people, @CMOfficeAssam, @gpsinghips and every concerned party who was hurt. The intent wasn't to hurt anyone and it will be kept in mind going forward that such incidents don't happen again," he wrote along with the video message.

"With this video I owe an apology to all the people whom I have unintentionally hurt with the recent podcast clip which is going viral over the internet. I got to know about the same that it has hurt the sentiments of the people and I felt that I should be actually owing an apology to all the people and the concerned parties over there. I wasn't doing it intentionally neither wanted to create a chaos because of this but that is exactly how it panned out and that's why I'm so sorry for anybody who got hurt because of that particular video," he said in the video message.

Kar further added that he would be more vigilant in future while taking reference from the second source of data. "I have already instructed yesterday itself to the podcaster to remove that particular portion clip which is hurting the sentiments as a protocol. Also I'm going to be more vigilant before depending on any sort of secondary source of data or while talking to anybody before I speak anything on the public platform. So please accept my apologies," he stated.

In his post, Kar also tagged the official X hand of the Assam CMO and the DGP. The finluencer made these remarks earlier this week during a podcast by entrepreneur Riya Upreti. Kar had claimed that in Assam's Mayong some could convert man into a goat using "tantric" powers.

He is a popular financial influencer having nearly two million subscribers on his YouTube channel and three million followers on his Instagram page.
