According to information, the baba, identified as Paramatma Das, alleged that he had travelled from Chhatarpur to Chitrakoot by bus and booked Manish Dwivedi’s car for ₹20,000 for a month. While resting at an ashram, he claimed his mobile phone and a bag containing ₹85,000 were left in the car. Upon returning, he found the car and the driver missing. Despite lodging a complaint, no action was taken, he alleged.
The Baba then sat on a dharna at Dhanush Square, demanding action. In the video, he can be heard instructing an aide to go live on Facebook, stating he wouldn’t cooperate with the police until his money and phone were recovered.
Police allege Baba asked to drive the car himself.
According to the police, the Baba had booked a car for the trip but insisted on installing a siren and driving the vehicle himself. The car owner, Manish Dwivedi, refused and deducted ₹500 from the advance payment, which angered the Baba.
