Bollywood actress Preity Zinta delighted her fans by hosting an interactive session on X (formerly Twitter). Known for her cheerful personality and iconic roles in some of Bollywood’s most cherished romances, Preity opened up about the lack of romantic films in Bollywood in today's time.

During the session, one fan asked her, "I believe Bollywood romances died with Yashji (filmmaker Yash Chopa), is there any way we get to see a good Bollywood romance in today’s time?"

Yash Chopra was regarded as the king of romance in Indian cinema. He passed away in 2012.

Reacting to the user, Preity said, "I was thinking the same. Hopefully some good writing & some new ideas will emerge from someone whose heart is in the right place I’m waiting just like you."

In 2004, Preity played the titular role of Zaara in Yash Chopra's romantic film Veer-Zaara opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The film and its songs are still loved by the audience. In fact, Veer-Zaara had emerged as the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2004.

In 2005, she starred in Salaam Namaste which was produced by Yash Chopra and directed by Siddharth Anand. Preity also had a cameo in Yash Chopra's 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which starred Shah Rukh and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.

Meanwhile, during her QnA session, Preity also shared details about her upcoming film. She also said that the audience will get to see her more on screen next year.

"Are you working on any new movies?? Love to watch you on the big screen again ..you are our fav 90s actress. You still look the same." To this, the actress replied, "Thank you ! My new project is called Lahore 1947 and it will release next year."

Preity made her Bollywood debut in 1998 with Mani Ratnam's Dil Se, starring Shah Rukh and Manisha Koirala in the lead. She shot to fame with films like Soldier, Koi..Mil Gaya, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Dil Chahta Hai, and more.

The actress is all set to make her comeback with Lahore 1947, which also stars Sunny Deol and his son Karan Deol. The Rajkumar Santoshi directorial is backed by Aamir Khan Productions.
