Raipur: State Congress President Deepak Baij blamed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government provided patronage to the corrupt, leading to rampant corruption in the state.
He accused Sai government is directly involved in the large-scale corruption resulting into recruitment scam.
He alleged that recruitment exams conducted across various government departments were compromised to give undue benefits to the powerful and incompetent by snatching the chance of selection from eligible and meritorious candidates.
Baij alleged that the BJP was “selling government jobs” and called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the exams so that culprits carrying out irregularities can be nabbed and presented before the law.
In a strongly worded statement, Baij claimed that the BJP government had been involved in trading government positions, with recruitment bids being invited for roles in the Forest and Police Departments.
He asserted that corruption had been exposed in the recruitment processes for constables and forest guards, with large sums of money exchanged to secure these jobs under BJP rule.
“The irregularities in the recruitment process, particularly in Rajnandgaon, have exposed the BJP government. Candidates with connections to top officials and influential leaders were unfairly awarded higher marks in the physical tests,” Baij alleged.
He also claimed that a Hyderabad-based company, contracted to conduct physical tests for the Forest and Police Departments, was colluding with officials to carry out irregularities.
The Congress party has demanded that all recruitment processes in these departments across the state be cancelled and that fresh physical tests be conducted.
Baij further called for an independent investigation, either by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or under the supervision of a sitting judge from the Chhattisgarh High Court.
Baij accused the BJP government of exploiting the aspirations of the state's youth through fraudulent recruitment processes and corruption. "This government is betraying the dreams of the youth and committing grave injustice against poor job seekers in the state," he said.
