Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident has been reported from Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district, where a 70-foot-high tower of high tension line collapsed on Thursday. Consequently, the nine labourers, who were working on the tower, fell down tragically.

Two of them died on the spot, while seven sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Rewa District Hospital.

The accident took place in Patehra village of Rampur Naikin Janpad Panchayat of the district.

Seven admitted to hospital in critical condition

According to information, nine labourers were working on a 400 KV transmission line of 70-foot-high tower on Thursday afternoon. While they were working, the tower collapsed and all the workers fell to the ground. The reason regarding the tower collapse is yet to be ascertained.

The on-lookers rushed to help and informed the police. The police then reached the spot immediately. The police along with the help of on-lookers took out the labourers from the trap. The two workers died on the spot, while 7 injured were taken to the Rewa District Hospital. The seven injured have been admitted and are critical. Their treatment is underway.

The police were collecting information regarding the identities of the workers.
