Young Australian opener Sam Konstas has brushed aside his shoulder-barging incident with Virat Kohli on day one of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The 19-year-old, speaking from the dugout, said such things happen in cricket and that it's not that big a deal.

The incident occurred after the tenth over of the innings as Kohli, with the ball, was walking past Konstas and made a contact with his shoulder. Kohli and Konstas also exchanged some words, causing Usman Khawaja and the umpire to intervene, thereby stopping the incident from escalating any further.

Speaking to 7cricket from the dugout, here's what the New South Welshman stated:

"I think the emotions got to both of us. I didn’t quite realise, I was doing my gloves. And then a little shoulder charge. But it happens, it’s cricket."
