Mumbai: In a significant reshuffle, the state government has transferred Anil Diggikar, the General Manager of the BEST Undertaking, following a series of fatal bus accidents that have sparked widespread criticism of his management. Diggikar, who was at the centre of the controversy surrounding the tragic Kurla bus incident, has now been appointed Additional Chief Secretary of the Divyang Kalyan Department in Mantralaya.

Who Is Dr. Harshdeep Kambl

Dr. Harshdeep Kamble, a 1997-batch IAS officer and current Principal Secretary of Industries, will replace Diggikar as the new GM of BEST. The transfer is seen as a response to mounting concerns over safety at the BEST Undertaking. Kamble is expected to bring fresh leadership to the organisation during this turbulent period.

In another key move, Dr. Anbalgan P, currently the Chairman and Managing Director of MAHAGENCO, has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Industries Department. Anbalgan, a former CEO of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), brings valuable experience to the post. Dr. Radhakrishnan B, Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister, will take over from Anbalgan at MAHAGENCO.

The reshuffle also saw a number of other significant bureaucratic changes. Sanjay Daine, Collector of Gadchiroli, has been posted as Commissioner of Textiles in Nagpur, while Rahul Kardile, Collector of Wardha, will now serve as Municipal Commissioner of Nashik Municipal Corporation. Smt. Vanmathi C, currently Joint Commissioner of State Tax, has been moved to Wardha as Collector. Sanjay Pawar, CEO of Chandrapur Zilla Parishad, has been appointed Joint Commissioner of State Tax in Mumbai. Further transfers include Avishyant Panda, Commissioner of Textiles in Nagpur, who will now serve as Collector of Gadchiroli; Vivek Johnson, appointed CEO of Chandrapur Zilla Parishad; Annasaheb Dadu Chavan, Deputy Commissioner at the Pune Divisional Commissioner’s Office, who will now head the Mahatma Phule Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana Society in Mumbai; and Gopichand Murlidhar Kadam, is the new CEO of Smart City, Solapur.
