Mumbai: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that 19.66 lakh houses will be provided to rural Maharashtra this year under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

The announcement was made during the “Kisan Samman Diwas 2024” event held on Monday at the Central Government’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Pune. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also present at the event.

Some conditions under the scheme for rural areas have been relaxed. Now, families in rural areas owning items like a two-wheeler, motorised fishing boat, landline phone, or refrigerator will also be eligible for this scheme.
