Mumbai: Mumbai’s renowned singer Amarendra Dhaneshwar will be conferred with Hridayesh Arts’ prestigious lifetime achievement award at the upcoming Hridayesh Gaanprabha Festival to be held on January 12.

Dhaneshwar, who is a well-known figure among the Mumbai’s art circles, is an accomplished performer trained from the Gwalior Gharana doyenne Neela Bhagwat. On Monday, Hridayesh Arts, the biggest organizer of classical music in Mumbai, announced its prestigious lifetime achievement award to him for the year 2025.

The award carries a memento and a cheque for Rs 1 lakh, that will be presented to the winner at the Hridayesh Gaanprabha Festival of Music to be held at Tilak Vidyalaya in Vile Parle (E) on January 12 at 8pm.

Dhaneshwar has also been writing about music for over three decades. His collection of critical essays on music of known vocalists and instrumentalists, Guniyan Gaaye Bajaye, was released in 2022 at the Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre. He had also hosted ‘Bhairavi Jhalak’, a free-of-cost progrmame to highlight the usage of Raga Bhairavi in popular music.
