Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A few cops allegedly beat a youth and dragged him to the police station after he refused to pay a challan and instead handed over his bike in Gwalior on Monday. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the police officers can be seen thrashing the youth and abusing him verbally.

According to information, the incident took place outside the traffic police station, shows Subedar Arun Jadon and other officers physically assaulting the youth named Parmal Rawat, and forcing him into the station.

Rawat, a resident of Mitauji village in the Tendua area, was stopped for a traffic violation outside the police station. According to Rawat, he had no money to pay the challan and told the officers he would leave his bike and walk away.

He also allegedly mentioned setting the bike on fire. This led to a heated argument, and Rawat reportedly pushed one of the officers.

In the video, Rawat is seen verbally abused. The police continued to drag him into the station, where he claims he was further beaten.

Following the incident, Subedar Arun Jadon filed a report against Rawat at the Kotwali police station for obstructing government work and other charges.

Rawat, however, denied using any abusive language and stated that he pleaded for forgiveness after being beaten.

Superintendent of Police, Aman Singh Rathore, confirmed that Rawat had a physical altercation with the police officers during a vehicle check, which resulted in one officer being injured.

A case has been filed against Rawat, and an investigation into the video of the police beating has been launched.

The ASP will look into the matter, and if the police officers are found guilty, appropriate action will be taken.
