Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A speeding and recklessly driven city bus ran over a café owner riding a two-wheeler in the Bhanwarkuan police station area on Sunday. The incident occurred on Ring Road when the city bus driver allegedly overtook the two-wheeler to onboard passengers and ran over the two-wheeler rider, resulting in his death on the spot. The bus driver fled the scene and police seized the bus. According to the police, the deceased was identified as Sanjay Dodve, a native of Gandhwani. He owned a café in the Bhanwarkuan area and was going from his café to bring vegetables when he met with the accident. An eyewitness Sunny said that he was walking on the road near Pratiksha Dhabha when he noticed a city bus driver driving the vehicle at high speed and in a zigzag manner. The bus recklessly overtook Sanjay's two-wheeler resulting in Sanjay losing balance. His two-wheeler slipped and he fell on the road. The rear wheel of the bus ran over Sanjay, resulting in his death on the spot. Sunny claimed that the city bus driver was in an inebriated condition and fled the scene after the incident. The police began a probe to gather information about the errant driver and to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident
