The NSS Unit B-18 of Valia College joined hands with Muktangan NGO to contribute towards the “Foundation Literacy and Numeracy Assessments (FLNAs)” initiative on the 12th and 13th of December, 2024. This impactful volunteering effort was made possible with the support and cooperation of the Municipal Additional Commissioner of Mira Bhayandar, Mr. Aniket Maorkar.
A total of 19 enthusiastic volunteers participated in this noble cause, with 16 female and 3 male volunteers actively engaging in the assessment process. The collaborative initiative aimed to assess and enhance foundational literacy and numeracy skills, ensuring a brighter educational future for children in the region.
The event highlighted the power of community service and underscored the importance of grassroots efforts in promoting education. Both the NSS Unit and Muktangan NGO expressed their gratitude to Mr. Maorkar for his support and the volunteers for their dedicated efforts in making this initiative a success.
