A 400-year-old Baobab tree on Aarey Milk Colony Road was saved from damage, thanks to good samaritans who timely intervened to save the heritage tree.

On December 15, The Free Press Journal had reported that Watchdog Foundation’s trustee Godfrey Pimenta had written to the BMC to ensure the tree's safety. “We are glad that the BMC contractor spared the tree. The idea to install stone carvings near the tree has been dropped,” Pimenta said.Devashri Bhujbal

The citizens had raised an alarm after finding the tree partially covered in green net.
