A three-year-old boy was killed in a tragic accident in Wadala on Saturday.
The incident occurred near Ambedkar College, where a driver was taking a U-turn, and the boy came under the wheel, resulting in his death on the spot.
The RAK Marg police have arrested the driver, and the child’s body has been sent to KEM Hospital for a post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Ayush Kinwade. The police have apprehended the 19-year-old accused, Bhushan Gole, who lives in Vile Parle and works as a driver.
According to the police, Ayush, who lived with his family on the footpath near Ambedkar College, was struck by Gole’s black car near the BEST office around 5.18pm. Gole approached the BEST bus stop, and while attempting to take a U-turn, Arush came under the car’s wheel, sustaining severe injuries to his body and head. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Ragasudha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 4, stated, “We have apprehended the accused and are in the process of filing a case against the driver.”
Records indicate that the car was registered just two months ago.
Laxman Kinwade lived with his wife and Ayush in a temporary hut on the footpath near Ambedkar College. Local residents stated that the people living on the footpath in this area had been allotted government housing in Mankhurd and its surrounding areas. These people are living here illegally by renting those houses.
