BJP plans to replicate successful electoral strategy of Haryana in UP

After a remarkable landslide victory in the recent Haryana elections, the BJP is now setting its sights on the upcoming by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. The party plans to replicate its successful electoral strategy by intensifying its outreach to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), a crucial voter demographic that has demonstrated significant support for the BJP in Haryana. In Uttar Pradesh, over 50 percent of the electorate belongs to the OBC category. The BJP's Backward Class Morcha is set to launch a series of focused campaigns across the state. These efforts will aim to reinforce the message that the party is firmly committed to OBC rights and reservations, alleviating any concerns voters may have about their status.

IAS Prabhav Joshi's dream is to establish world-class sports facilities in Rajkot

IAS Prabhav Joshi belongs to the 2014 batch of the Gujarat cadre and is currently posted as the collector of Rajkot, Gujarat.

Regarding his vision for Rajkot, Prabhav’s dream project focuses on development of sports infrastructure in the district. "We are working on establishing good sports complexes in our district. We have started development at six locations by utilizing government wasteland, making it encroachment-free, and using the district foundation grant along with some miscellaneous grants. For the rural youth, we are creating facilities for volleyball, football, basketball, and kho-kho."

Under his leadership mapping funds and identifying suitable land for sports development has been a priority. "We want to see children from Rajkot succeed on a larger scale. Even for police recruitment, we want to have a practice ground for those who want to prepare for races. For the army, we are making running tracks available. This is the direction we are currently working toward," Prabhav explained.

Prabhav with his clarity of vision and ambitions has miles to go. Rajkot being famous for its rich cultural heritage is also a focus of his efforts "There is one monument under the Archaeological Survey of India that lacks road access. We are working to develop it as a tourist destination, ensuring accessibility by building roads, washrooms, and signage," he stated. "The district also has state-protected monuments. We have permanently lost two or three, and some don’t require repairs. Last year, we repaired five to six monuments, and we aim to refurbish the remaining ones this year. We are striving to restore and revitalize them."

The project he is pleased to have completed addresses the shortage of quality pediatrics service in the area of upleta and gondal, particularly in neonatal care. "We realized that while we had resident pediatric doctors, we lacked state-of-the-art equipment. We purchased the necessary machines, which are now also helping train students. Additionally, patients who were previously referred elsewhere are now receiving treatment locally. AIIMS Rajkot has also evaluated the project and provided a positive assessment. It is a project that has already been completed," he stated.
