The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Indian Women Network (IWN) successfully hosted the 6th Edition of She Matters—themed “Rise and Thrive: Unlocking Wellness”—at Ginger Hotel, Vile Parle, Mumbai. This flagship event brought together leaders and experts to focus on the health and wellness of women, addressing their unique healthcare needs and championing innovative solutions.

The summit underscored the importance of understanding women’s health across all stages of life, tackling both physical and mental health issues. It highlighted the disparities that women face, particularly in healthcare systems where their needs are often overlooked.

Dr. Shilpa Tatake, Group COO at Jupiter Hospital, emphasized the gender inequality that persists in women’s health: “Gender inequality in women's health is a pervasive issue, often overlooked by treating women's health the same as men's. This disparity is clear even in clinical trials, where women are underrepresented, leading to gaps in understanding and addressing their unique health needs.”

Vishal Kamat, Chairman, CII Maharashtra State Council emphasised that empowering women to prioritize their well-being is not just about self-care; it's about unlocking their full potential to rise and thrive. When women invest in their wellness, they bring strength, balance, and innovation to every aspect of life—personally and professionally. By creating environments that support both mental and physical health, we open doors to limitless possibilities for growth and success.

Gauri Pathak, Chairperson of CII IWN Maharashtra, expanded on the need to redefine women's health: “Health has different meanings for different people, but when it comes to women's health, we must broaden the conversation beyond reproductive health and menopause. Women's well-being is influenced by a complex range of factors—physical, mental, and social—that deserve equal attention and care.”

The summit featured discussions on topics ranging from mental health and self-esteem to the growing role of technology in healthcare. Dr. Ruksheda Syeda, Vice Chairperson of CII IWN Maharashtra, summed up the event's key takeaways: “From insightful discussions on mental health and self-esteem to exploring the role of artificial intelligence in women's healthcare, and hearing powerful stories of resilience and triumph—we have all gained invaluable lessons.”
