The University of Wollongong is preparing to open its campus in India at GIFT City in November 2024. Indian applicants are now being accepted by the institution for this campus.

The university has received more than 800 applications for financial and computing technology programmes, out of a total capacity of 50 students for each, as reported by Ahmedabad Mirror.

Fee structure & admission criteria at the Indian campus

Kath McCollim, executive director of Global Student Recruitment at the University of Wollongong, said, "The fee at the Indian campus has been capped at Australian Dollar (AUD) 9,300 for a graduate certificate course in computing and AUD27,900 for a Master’s degree in Computing (Data Analytics)", according to the Shiksha report.

She further added, "For the Graduate Certificate course in Financial Technology, the fee is capped at AUD9,300, AUD27,900 for Master of Financial Technology and AUD37,200 for Master of Financial Technology Extension."

The institution will switch from the widely used semester model to a trimester structure. For the one-term model, the trimester system has three months.

Kath McCollim said, "We are going to consider their graduation score for admission in the master’s courses. While exams like IELTS are not mandatory, English education is one of the eligibility criteria to pursue courses with us."
