Badlapur rape accused, Akshay Shinde, shot himself while he was being taken in police custody on Monday (September 23).
He reportedly snatched the revolver of police officer and shot himself.
The Police officer tried to stop him but he got shot too. Both accused and the police officer are seriously injured.

The Badlapur case where two school girls were allegedly sexually assaulted had caused a massive outrage in Badlapur where people took to Railway station and track to protest and demand justice.
The accused, Akshay Shinde, who worked as a peon in the school was held and slapped with serious charges and the issue also raised serious concerns regarding the safety of girls in schools as several disrepancies were found on the part of the school.
