The 45th National Conference of the Association of Anatomists-Tamil Nadu (AATN) recently concluded at the SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (SRM MCH&RC), drawing participation from over 300 national and international students. Held under the theme “‘A’ Trifecta of Innovation - Anatomy, AI & Advancement,” the conference was a collaborative effort with The Association of Anatomists, Tamil Nadu (AATN).

The event was graced by a distinguished lineup of guests including Dr. P. Thangaraju, Managing Director of the Centre for Medical Genetics, Chennai, who served as the chief guest. Key representatives from SRM MCH&RC included Lt. Col. Dr. A Ravi Kumar, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Dr. T. Mythili, Additional Registrar; and Dr. Nitin M Nagarkar, Dean. The conference also saw the participation of office bearers from AATN and eminent anatomists from across the nation.

The conference featured an impressive array of over 160 scientific presentations, including both oral and poster formats. The highlight of the event was the prestigious Dr. M M Cooper Oration, delivered by the President of AATN, Dr. W M S Johnson.

Noteworthy sessions included a compelling lecture by Dr. S. Sreeram, a renowned Gastroenterologist from GEM Hospital, Chennai, on “Effective Integration of AI in Gastrointestinal Surgery.” Additionally, Dr. K. Muthu Prathibha, Professor of Physiology at SRM MCH&RC, offered valuable insights through her presentation on "Mentoring Medical Students: Current Insights.”

The conference provided a platform for knowledge exchange and innovation, bridging the fields of anatomy and artificial intelligence, and setting a new benchmark for academic collaboration and advancement.
