DIMAPUR — The Medziphema Town Students’ Union (MTSU) successfully defended their title in the Chakhroma Students’ Union Volleyball Running Trophy by defeating the Medziphema A Students’ Union in the final match on Saturday at the Chümoukedima village ground. The second edition of the tournament was a two-day event (November 15-16) organised by the Chakhroma Students’ Union (CSU) and hosted by the Chümoukedima Village Students’ Union. The trophy is held every three years. It was informed that 38 villages are affiliated with CSU, and a total of 21 men’s teams and 7 women’s teams participated in the tournament. In the women’s category, the Vidima Students’ Union team won the championship title after defeating Seithekema Basa Students’ Union in the final match. The winners in both the men’s and women’s categories were awarded a cash prize of INR 50,000 each, along with a trophy, while the runners-up received INR 20,000 each. Individual prizes of INR 2,000 each were also presented to the best spiker, best setter, and player of the tournament for both men and women.
