DIMAPUR — Six fighters training at The Combat Academy, Nagaland, participated in the recently concluded national selections for MMA and Striking MMA under the Federation of Mixed Martial Arts India. The event took place at the Dwarka Auditorium in Bengaluru on October 5 and 6, in preparation for the GAMMA World Championships 2024, which will be held in Indonesia, stated an update. Out of the six participants, Atokivi Chishi secured gold in the bantamweight category for Striking MMA, while Kedokietuo Sirie won gold in the 79 kg category for MMA. Tsenchio Kikon earned silver in the 52 kg strawweight Striking MMA category, and Sohilo Yimkhiung secured bronze in the 70 kg division. Thanmi Angkang secured a silver medal in the 61.2 kg division. Wungvamsem Raman had to forfeit due to an injury after winning his first bout in the 65.8 kg MMA selections. All gold medallists have qualified to participate in the world championship under the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts and will represent the country in their respective weight categories in Indonesia.
