WOKHA — The Khelo India Centre (Boxing), Wokha, was inaugurated on Thursday, with YM Humtsoe, MLA, attending as the special guest at Police Reserve DEF, Wokha. At the programme, Humtsoe highlighted the importance of sports, urging students to prioritise it alongside their education. He emphasised the physical and mental benefits of sports, encouraging them to consider it as a professional career path. While lauding the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, he urged the attendees to spread the message about the new facility and encouraged students to pursue various sports professions to bring honour to the district. He also assured his support for the success of the centre. Aotula Imchen, superintendent of police, Wokha, assured in her speech that the centre would be used to focus on youth development, aiming to nurture sports personalities. She stressed that sports foster character, inspire perseverance, and instill the values of hard work, ultimately fostering excellence in any endeavour.
