DIMAPUR — A five-day skill training programme at Oriental Theological College (OTC) in Yangli organised by the Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre (NTRTC) concluded on Saturday. The training programme began with a welcome speech delivered by the college principal, Dr. Chemtingla Sangtam. The trainers of the programme were Thüküngolü Swuro, S Pitoka Achumi, Keriesekho Miasalhou and Vesuto Rhakho. An update from the college stated that the participants had the unique opportunity to explore five different trades namely banana fibre extraction, handicraft, handmade paper and pulp, waste management (Reduce, Re-use and Recycle) and house wiring and maintenance, each designed to equip them with practical skills. The initiative brought together more than 100 eager trainees. It added that the participants gained valuable hands-on experience, knowledge and skills in diverse trades, equipping them with the tools to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities and promote sustainability. On the final day, participants shared their experiences and insights gained throughout the programme, reflecting on their personal growth and learning outcomes.
