DIMAPUR — The Longleng District Health Society (DHS) observed World Pneumonia Day and also launched the Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS) during a programme held at the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO) in Longleng town on Wednesday with Imkongnukla Ao, EAC of Longleng, as the special guest. An update from the CMO stated that Dr. Imtijungshi Aier, DPO (RCH/UIP) of Longleng, gave a short presentation on World Pneumonia Day and launch of SAANS. In his presentation, he stated that World Pneumonia Day is observed to spread awareness and educate people to combat Pneumonia disease as well as to create awareness on the importance of clean air all over the world. He added that it is focused on encouraging for global action to fight the toll due to Pneumonia and other respiratory infection.
