DIMAPUR — The Naga National Council (NNC) of Lotha region convened a significant meeting on Tuesday at the Tourist Lodge Resort in Wokha town to elect leaders, who are committed towards advancing the Naga political solution. The meeting was called subsequent upon the unification of the NNC Lotha region under Yillow Humtsoe and the NNC led by Gen. (retired) Thinoselie M Keyho on September 4, 2024. The unified NNC in Lotha region would be led by Ekyimthung Patton as president, Yanjamo Yanthan and Nchumbemo Kithan as vice presidents, Thungchanbemo as general secretary, Tsenjamo Humtsoe as joint secretary-cum-finance, Limhathung Tanglao as treasurer and Tsumomo Yanthan and Riphamo Kithan as advisors. The group resolved to work collectively on the Naga political issue, guided by the principles of the 1929 Simon Commission, the May 16, 1951 Naga Plebiscite and the August 14, 1947 Naga Independence Declaration, in pursuit of Naga sovereignty.
