DIMAPUR — The newly constructed building of Primary Health Centre (PHC), Nokhu in Noklak district, constructed under the National Health Mission (NHM) flagship programme of 2017-18, was inaugurated by Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, S Tainiu, on Oct. 4. Addressing the inaugural programme, Tainiu exhorted the people to continue their support for the department in achieving the target of a better healthcare delivery system, a DIPR report stated. She also requested all stakeholders to protect the government assets and avail themselves of the opportunities provided by the government for improving the livelihood of the people. The special guest also unveiled the monolith of the building. Chief medical officer, Noklak, Dr. Victor NC, encouraged the staff to carry out all activities diligently in order to make the new PHC fully functional. Extra Assistant Commissioner (Nokhu) Menlom Phom impressed upon the gathering to desist from land encroachment for smooth functioning of the PHC. Phom stated that avoiding issues related to land is essential for the proper implementation of government plans and activities.
