DIMAPUR — The orientation programme for second batch students selected to undergo coaching and sponsored by Yopikyu Thongtsar Memorial Trust (YTMT) was held on October 5 at 2K Hotel in Officers’ Hill, Kohima. Delivering the welcome address, Theose Thongtsar, chairman of YTMT and officer on special duty (OSD), said they are providing opportunity to enhance capacity for various competitive exams and stated that the outcome would depend on the hand work, perseverance and determination of the aspirants. He challenged the students to give their utmost efforts as only best among them would come out successfully in this cut-throat competitive world. He further mentioned that YTMT had sponsored 40 students in the first batch and 53 (technical-9 and general-44) students in the second batch. In his keynote address, Selichum Thongtsar, Trustee and joint secretary of Works and Housing department, highlighted that YTMT was established in memory of his father Lt. Yopikyu, who studied in Mokokchung and was among the first educationist from the Sangtam community. Lt. Yopikyu served as school teacher and became a school inspector.
