KOHIMA — The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on Wednesday launched the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS), a cleanliness campaign, at Old MLA Hostel Junction in Kohima. Launching the campaign, Neikhozo Suokhrie, KMC chairperson, expressed delight to witness active participation of the citizens during the cleanliness drive. The KMC chief executive officer (CEO), T Lanusenala Longkumer, administered Swachhata Hi Seva pledge to the participants from various wards of Kohima. She informed that SHS was kicked off at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat simultaneously with Safaimitra Suraksha Shivir-a free health camp for all sanitation workers, at the KMC office on September 18. She added that KMC field staff are giving out reusable carry bags to people, shoppers and everyone who are using plastic carry bags. She added that various activities have been planned with the schools and colleges during the campaign which would conclude on October 2.
