DIMAPUR — A district-level training on routine immunisation (RI) micro planning and health strengthening activities was held at the conference hall of the District Hospital, Mon, on Friday. The chief medical officer (CMO) of Mon, Dr. Supongmenla Walling, greeted all the participants and team from the state UIP. She emphasised the relevance of the training and the need to update data at least once a year on eligible couples and children under the age of five, stated an update from CMO office. Dr. Walling requested all participants to learn what is taught and added that she along with the deputy CMO and DIO would always be available to assist them in case of any doubt in future. Dr. Longri Kichu, SPC UNICEF, stated that the state intended to develop a proper micro plan for RI as the targets and percentages are extremely low when utilising census data. Informing that the ministry has permitted the states to perform accurate headcounts, he asked the participants to fill all the necessary forms.
