DIMAPUR — The closing function of skilling for women in rural areas was held at town hall, Niuland, on Friday, which was also attended by the deputy commissioner of Niuland, Sara S Jamir. In her address, the DC thanked the department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for bringing the skilling programme to Niuland district, a DIPR report stated. Jamir emphasised the need to become self-reliant and to ensure that economy of the district and state is “circular and developed.” She further encouraged the trainees to put into practice what they’ve learned and train more people to take up self-employment jobs. “This will improve the overall economic and living condition and will take the district ahead,” she said. On the occasion, the DC also gave away toolkits and certificates to 25 trainees. The programme was chaired by officer in charge of WITI Chümoukedima, Ruyazelie Keyho, and the closing remark was pronounced by employment officer, Nibizo Nagi.
