DIMAPUR — The Department of Employment Skill, Development and Entrepreneurship (ESDE) concluded a two-week training on “Skill development for rural women through mobile skill morung”, focussing on the job role of “baking”. The training, led by Pinnacle Skills and guided by baker Mecieno Kharütso, took place from August 19 to the 31st, according to a press release. The initiative aimed to empower rural women by equipping them with essential baking skills. A total of 25 participants from six villages within the Southern Angami 1 Assembly Constituency took part in the workshop held at Town Hall in Jakhama. The culmination event featured short speeches from dignitaries, including MLA Kevipodi Sophie and Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao, joint director of ESDE. Both speakers emphasised the importance of skill development in empowering rural women and boosting local economies. Certificates and toolkits were also distributed to the participants. The event concluded with closing remarks by Arenla Kitho, senior manager of Pinnacle Skills, Kohima Centre, who congratulated the participants and encouraged them to utilise their new skills to enhance their livelihoods.
