DIMAPUR — The Directorate of School Education on Friday organised a felicitation programme for meritorious students of government schools at the Morung conference hall with the advisor of School Education and SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, as the special guest. Speaking at the programme, Dr. Yhome congratulated the award recipients and stated that success does not belong to students alone but to teachers as well, who have given their best effort and hard work in motivating students to be sincere in their studies. He informed that there are 1,939 government schools in Nagaland covering every nook and corner of the state equipped with well qualified teachers for the improvement of education system in the state. He, therefore, called upon the people to change their mindset who think that those students going to government school are from financially weaker section. He informed that the department is giving its best effort to upgrade the education system by giving free quality-education. He assured that the education system will greatly improve when a rush time will come for admission in GPS, GMS, GHS and GHSS, stated a DIPR report.
