In a first-of-its-kind service in government health centres, the Srinagar administration has decided to start facility for medical investigations during wee hours on pilot basis.

An official spokesperson said the services would be started at Public Health Centre (PHC), Batamaloo, and PHC, Zadibal, in Srinagar.

On Tuesday, to ensure smooth patient care facilities in city hospitals, Srinagar Deputy Commissioner Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat undertook visits to JLNM Hospital in Rainawari, CHC Gousia in Khanyar, PHC Zadibal, and other hospitals.

"During the visit, the DC took first-hand appraisal about the medical facilities being extended to the patients. He inspected various wards and sections of these hospitals. He also enquired about the availability of medicines, diagnostics and other facilities available in the hospital," the spokesperson said.

Bhat "vowed to provide machinery equipment for early investigations and on pilot basis," the spokesperson said.

The DC assured that the said "machinery shall be provided to other health centres in a phased manner for providing investigation facility during wee hours."

He said the district administration is committed for overall upliftment of each and every sector, especially health.

The DC directed the hospital administrations to "maintain complete hygiene in and around the hospitals and provide better medical care facilities to the patients".

He also stressed for proper utilisation of human resources and to serve the patients with utmost dedication and sincerity, the spokesperson added.
