The SIT of the police claimed to have made progress in the drug bust case that involved recovery narcotics and Rs 24 lakh cash from Valmiki Nagar. The SIT has arrested Saif Ali, alias Khanna, from Jagadhri, and Mayank Singh, alias Maan, from Raipur Rani. The police said the accused were from Haryana and have been remanded to police custody for five days.

The investigation gained momentum with the arrest of 71-year-old Prem Chand, his 44-year-old son Sagar, and his grandson Sangram Singh, alias Anshul.

Under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramakant Thakur, the SIT also apprehended Seema from Hamidpur, Kala Amb, and Rajnikant from Valmiki Nagar, Nahan. The police said the recent arrests of traffickers from Haryana had brought the total number of individuals behind bars to seven.

The SIT has been investigating the cases with diligence to find the trail of the narcotics, which were supplied by the accused. The police said during intense interrogations with the three generations of the suspects, the involvement of Haryana-based traffickers in the supply chain was uncovered. Utilising mobile location tracking and digital footprints, the police identified and apprehended the accused.

Within the past month, the police have apprehended two major drug operators in Sirmaur.

Sirmaur SP Raman Kumar Meena said seven accused were arrested in the Valmiki Nagar case, with five currently in judicial custody.
