Karnal: Dr Savita Kumari, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, said a special Lok Adalat was being organised by the Supreme Court of India from July 29 to August 3 for those pending cases in which the government was a party. Dr Kumari urged people to get their cases resolved at the adalat. Any person with pending cases in the Supreme Court can contact the DLSA office, she said, adding that free legal services could be availed for the settlement of these cases and there was no need to pay lawyer fees and other expenses. The objective of the Lok Adalat is to settle cases related to labour disputes, cheque bounces, accident claims, compensation-related matters, family law cases, service-related cases, rent-related cases, educational matters, accident claims, imprisonment cases, consumer protection cases, transfer petitions, loan recovery cases, criminal miscellaneous cases and land dispute cases.
