Sirsa, July 25

The Nursing Welfare Association in Sirsa organised a two-hour strike on Thursday to show resentment against its long-standing demands.

Members of the association, including district president Rajkumar Bhardwaj, deputy president Pannalal, secretary Amit and treasurer Mukesh Kumar, said their major demands were equal nursing allowance of Rs 7,200 like the Union Government, conversion from Group C to Group B, filling of Deputy Director and Assistant Director, Nursing Positions, and filling of vacant SNO and CNO posts. They said they had requested the government many times to fulfil their demands, but to no avail. Bhardwaj said there was resentment among the nurses due to the indifferent attitude of the department and the government.
