Nikhil Kumaraswamy from JDS will contest against Congress candidate CP Yogeshwar in the Channapatna assembly seat bypoll. The bypoll is necessitated by Kumaraswamy's resignation from the Mandya LS seat. BJP's BS Yediyurappa announced Kumaraswamy's candidacy. Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are supporting Yogeshwar. The election will be held on November 13.
