Delhi’s new Chief Minister, Atishi, will continue to oversee all 13 portfolios she managed in the previous government, including key areas such as education, finance, revenue, power, and the Public Works Department (PWD). Officials confirmed that Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena approved the proposed portfolio allocation, as submitted by Atishi. This comes following her assumption of office after the tenure of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who did not hold any portfolios during his leadership.Atishi, the eighth chief minister of Delhi, has maintained continuity by retaining four of her previous cabinet colleagues—Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, and Imran Hussain. Additionally, first-time MLA from Sultanpur Majra, Mukesh Ahlawat, joins the cabinet as a new minister.Bharadwaj will continue in his previous roles and will now also be in charge of social welfare and cooperative departments, previously held by Raaj Kumar Anand, who stepped down in April. With eight portfolios under his belt, including health, urban development, irrigation, and tourism, Bharadwaj holds the most after the chief minister.Ahlawat, entering the cabinet for the first time, will manage labour, gurdwara elections, and welfare of SCs and STs, as well as the land and building departments.Gopal Rai retains the portfolios of development, general administration, environment, and forests from the previous Kejriwal administration. Similarly, Kailash Gahlot continues to manage transport, home, administrative reforms, and women and child development.Imran Hussain will maintain his responsibilities over food and supply, as well as election portfolios. With this cabinet lineup, Atishi signals a balance between continuity and new leadership as her government looks forward to addressing key priorities in Delhi.
