The participation of males and females in the 15-59 year age group in employment and related activities in a day increased to 75 per cent and 25 per cent, respectively, from 70.9 per cent and 21.8 per cent in 2019, according to a government survey on time use. The National Statistics Office (NSO) conducted the first all-India Time Use Survey (TUS) during January December 2019, a statistics ministry statement said. According to the statement, the present survey conducted during January December 2024 is the second such all-India survey. Time Use Survey (TUS) provides a framework for measuring time dispositions by the population on different activities. It is an important source of information about the activities that are performed by the population and the time duration for which such activities are performed.
