A GLASGOW firm supplying services to arms manufacturers with close links to the Israeli military has become the latest target for direct action.

Kelvinside Electronics, which is contracted with arms giants Leonardo UK and Thales, had its Kilsyth site daubed in red paint by Palestine Action.

Activists urged the firm to “Drop Leonardo[‘s] Contract” and “Don’t Profit from Genocide.”

The latest protest comes less than a fortnight after Parker Hannifin, another Glasgow supplier to Leonardo UK – which manufactures parts used in Israeli F-35 fighter aircraft – saw similar treatment.

Repeating their calls for a total arms embargo on Israel, a Palestine Action spokesperson said: “Leonardo and Thales do not supply weapons systems to Israel in isolation, they require a network of inter-company contracts to function.

“By targeting Kelvinside Electronics we are directly responding to calls from Palestine to disrupt the supply chain of arms from Scotland to Israel.

“It is unconscionable to profit from genocide and human suffering. Boycott Thales and Leonardo.

“Don’t make Scotland a hospitable place for the business of war and colonialism.”
