The elegance of Amelia Hall, which is not a restaurant, is amplified by the revival of original features, some dating back a century: high ceilings, huge iron-framed windows, street-level access through heavy inset glass and iron doors which tell you you have arrived somewhere very important, all repackaged as a cool, comfortable and perfectly lit club lounge bar for grown-ups. Our parents and grandparents used to love lounges with their fat sofas and squishy armchairs. Amelia Hall has that salon vibe, but according to owners Peter and Ben Ringland, it is definitely not a restaurant.
