TV presenter Lorraine Kelly has directly addressed Strictly star Wynne Evans on her show, telling him that his inappropriate comments aimed at host Janette Manrara were "not on".Strictly 2024 star Wynne was involved in a fresh scandal over the weekend, when the Go Compare actor was recorded making an inappropriate sexual comment to host Janette when she walked over to the group. In a video of the cast posing for a photo published by Daily Mail., Wynne is seen singing out, 'Go Compare,' before telling Janette: "Not too close to Jamie."He then uses the demeaning term "spit roast", referring to a lewd sexual act - met by awkward laughter from the rest of the cast and a wince from co-star Jamie Borthwick. In a statement, Wynne told the Mirror: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise."Meanwhile, a BBC Studios spokesperson added: "We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour."Speaking on her ITV show on Monday morning, Lorraine Kelly didn't shy away in giving her opinion. She told her viewers: "Welcome back, now that is Wynne Evans and his dance partner Katya performing on the Strictly tour. The former opera singer has been making headlines though after being overheard making a crude sexual remark towards It Takes Two presenter Janette during a photo call. I shan't say what he said, suffice to say it's really not on."After reading out his apology, Lorraine added: "I should think so too. Do better mate."During his time on Strictly last year, the Welsh opera singer was accused by viewers of 'groping' partner Katya Jones after he controversially placed his hand on her waist. As he seemed to move his hand closer to her stomach, Katya brushed it away. While fans were outraged at his hand placement, the pair clarified that it was a "silly inside joke". Katya went onto say on It Takes Two at the time: "Sorry Fleur [East], sorry, I will get onto dancing I promise but can I please first get something out of the way that I feel like overshadowed our performance for absolutely no reason and quite frankly, actually, I can't bare sitting here watching this man [Wynne] being portrayed as someone he's not."In fact, it couldn't be further away from the truth so I have to make this absolutely clear that this whole incident with the hand and the high five on Saturday night it was an inside joke between Wynne and I. Was it a silly joke? Yes! Was it a bad joke? Yes!" At this point Wynne interjected with: "Yeah and I've watched it back, I can see how people may have misinterpreted it."Katya went on: "Yeah but however, it was a joke and even the idea that it made me feel 'uncomfortable' or 'offended' in anyway is total nonsense. Those that have doubts, you guys have it got wrong! So hopefully this will be the end of it. You [Wynne] just keep making me smile, please!"Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads.
