We give to cancer charities to support life-saving research and innovative treatments – but what happens when financial crises diminish donations?

Cancer – at some point in our lives, it will affect every single one of us. Whether it’s through a grandparent, a friend from school, a colleague or even your own child, we all feel its frustration and despair.

For me, it was the death of my father recently. Watching as someone you love slowly diminishes is an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. But what is the answer? Put simply: research.
