Two officers intervened following argument in Newtown before they were allegedly attacked with both men taken to hospital, force says

Two off-duty police officers have been assaulted in Sydney with one knocked to the ground and repeatedly punched in the head, New South Wales police allege.

Police said they were called to a brawl on Enmore Road in Newtown late on Wednesday.
