First use of weapons since Joe Biden lifted restrictions came hours after Vladimir Putin signed nuclear decree

Moscow has said Ukraine fired six US-made Atacms missiles at Russia’s Bryansk region, in what would be the first use of the weapons on Russian territory since the Biden administration lifted restrictions.

Russia’s defence ministry said in a statement that its military shot down five of them and damaged one more. It added that fragments fell overnight on the territory of an unmanned military facility.
